Building a Farmhouse Table Top
In this video, I build the table top for a farmhouse table using white oak. The breadboard ends are made using mortise and tenon joinery, which are then draw-bored to draw everything tight. The center tenon is glued, but the rest are free to float inside the mortises with seasonal wood movement. I used a vinegar and steel wool solution to age the wood, then sprayed a Polycrylic finish. The top was attached to the base using floating wooden tabs placed inside mortises cut into the aprons.
