SAILING A £98k QUICKSILVER TO FORGOTTEN SEA FORTS!

Slipping lines at 09:00, we took this brilliant Quicksilver 755 Weekend out into the busy commercial shipping lanes of the Thames Estuary. Our destination? The incredible, rusting steel giants of the Red Sands Maunsell Forts.

Constructed in 1943, these isolated towers were London's first line of defence against incoming bombers. Standing beneath them today, listening to the wind and the sea, is a truly humbling experience that puts their immense wartime sacrifice into perspective.
