According to a study conducted by bill pay service doxo, nearly 6 out of 10 Americans, or 59%, plan to spend their $600 stimulus checks on household bills.

Jim Kreyenhagen, doxo’s vice president of marketing and consumer services, explained: “It is very encouraging to see that nearly all U.S. consumers believe that the government’s latest round of stimulus checks will help them improve their own financial health in the coming year.”

While the money will certainly go to good use, many financial experts are saying that the $600 stimulus checks are not enough to keep millions of Americans financially afloat.

Kreyenhagen stated: “Unfortunately, the $600 checks won’t get them very far.”

I completely agree, and hope that Congress can work to pass the $2,000 stimulus check proposal as soon as possible.

Meanwhile, we talked about TurboTax and H&R Block sending stimulus checks to millions of wrong bank accounts earlier this week, and now one of these massive tax preparation companies is trying to make things right and deliver these direct payments to struggling Americans.

A statement from TurboTax explains: "The IRS recently began issuing a second round of stimulus payments to those eligible. Unfortunately, because of an IRS error, millions of payments were sent to the wrong accounts and some may not have received their stimulus payment."

They continued: "We have been working tirelessly on a solution with the Treasury and the IRS. As a result, our expectation now is that within days the error will be corrected and stimulus payments will begin being deposited into the correct bank accounts."

I sure hope that all of these tax companies can fix their glitches and deliver the much needed $600 stimulus checks to the Americans that need and deserve these disaster relief funds.

Finally, a recent study from Credit Sesame shows that Americans can significantly improve their credit score by doing 1 thing with their $600 or $2,000 stimulus checks.

The report states: “those with poor credit scores between 300 and 500, 70% could see a 19-point increase in their score within a month if they use the $600 stimulus payment to pay down their credit card debt.”

Jay Moon, general manager of Credit Sesame, explained: “There’d be a quick impact and it would affect quite a few folks as well.”

He continued: “A 20-point increase could be very meaningful in terms of folks helping to secure an auto loan with a lower interest rate or for folks [trying to] qualify for an FHA loan to start the home buying process for their families.”

This is very solid financial advice, especially if your credit score is currently low and you want to raise it in just a few weeks.
