Mango Jones Walkthrough, ZX Spectrum

A walkthrough of the ZX Spectrum game, Mango Jones. A 1990 game by Andy Remic, published on a Crash magazine covertape. Mango Jones is a space archaeologist, and while venturing into the unknown he stumbles upon the planet Shela-Rola. A strange place inhabited by intelligent bananas, which are in terrible danger of being invaded by the Darkk Empire! Shela-Rola is surrounded by seven other worlds, all of which are occupied by the Darkk Empire. There's only one thing for it: take your ship to each planet and destroy it, and wipe out the Darkk Empire.

This game tends to stick you behind a timed wall (where you have to wait 10 seconds to get through), while filling the other side with randomly-moving enemies. The attribute-based collisions are poor and you tend to get "stuck" inside an enemy if you touch it.

Thus an infinite energy poke has been used. It might barely be possible without the poke, but you would have to get *very* lucky with the random-number generator.

From the recording originally sent by Paul E. Collins to http://www.rzxarchive.co.uk/ . Recorded using "rollback", a feature of the emulator which allows you to mark a point, which you can then roll back to later if you get into difficulty, and try again.
