FHIR DevDays Impact Showcase: HealthOne

HealthOne is a regional interoperability solution that aggregates clinical data from across New Zealand’s South Island, giving healthcare professionals a comprehensive, real-time view of a patient’s health journey.

Originally developed in response to the 2011 Christchurch earthquakes, HealthOne was designed to prevent the loss of critical patient data and improve continuity of care. Since then, it has grown into a cornerstone of the South Island health system.

Presented at the FHIR DevDays 2025 Impact Showcase, this session highlights how HealthOne uses HL7 FHIR to power a secure, fast, and scalable data-sharing platform that supports better, safer care across hospitals, general practices, pharmacies, emergency services, aged care, and more.
