Ogni spirito giace
Che saria poi s’ ella me desse vita.
=== ENGLISH ===
Such glad and welcome death
comes to my heart from my lady’s eyes,
that dying is sweet to me, sweet are the pains.
For whenever I look at her
Turning in such a kind and lovely gesture
Immediately the heart dies of sweetness.
My tongue is silent, mute
Every spirit lies
Attentive to perceive
Such a sweet dying.
But the heart rejoices so much from the dying
That it then does not feel pain,
Rather, death transforms into joy.
Therefore, if my lady is of the kind
That can make death feel so welcome
What would it be like, if she gave me life?
