Advancing with Watercolor: Working in Plein Air - NYC "Morning Light, Le Pain Quotidien “

This video was done after a week of plein air painting with watercolor in New York City. It is part of a series of videos featuring Central Park, Bryant Park, Times Square, and Dumbo park at the Brooklyn Bridge. The workshop lasted six days and each day was a new adventure . In this video I describe some of the challenges in working on location, as well as some of the strategies to overcome those challenges. In particular selecting a motive, giving your self a title from the beginning, designing around a center of interest, how to work with changing conditions and the many distractions that can present themselves.
In each video I will address some of the challenges with each motive and ways to meet those challenges. Along the way I hope you experience the same thrill of working in the city of New York under an open sky that we did.
