Cactus and Ants, 5-23-23

So I was moving this cactus pot to another location, turns out there was an ant nest in the dirt it was sitting in! Thank goodness they were not fire ants, or I would be hurting now!!!

Well, I figured I could hose them off the pot, then move it. But when I did that, they all came swarming out from below, carrying these little white things. I think those are eggs they were trying to rescue from the water-soaked dirt down thee, carrying them to "higher ground" for safety!

So here you see all these ants in panic mode, trying desperately to save their babies!!! At least I think that's what's happening here!
