One of the most beautiful coastal settlements of Halkidiki is #Afitos. It lies 73 km south of Thessaloniki and has almost 1300 permanent residents.

It has been inhabited since prehistoric times, while Ancient Afitis was an important city of Pallini (as #Kassandra was known at the time) and is mentioned by ancient writers such as Herodotus, Aristotle, Pausanias and others.
