Dry Needling for Plantar Fasciitis | Seattle Podiatrist
https://www.footankle.com/heel-pain-center/plantar-fasciitis-dry-needling/ If you have pain in the heel that won’t go away even though you have tried several treatments, then you have chronic heel pain. Plantar fasciitis is the most common cause of heel pain, but if you have heel pain that is not improving then you may not have plantar fasciitis at all. In this video, Dr. Doug Hale discusses the causes and a treatment known as dry needling for treating even the most chronic plantar fasciitis. Stubborn and chronic heel pain is usually very treatable with appropriate treatment.
Often heel pain doesn’t get better because of a condition called plantar fasciosis. Unlike plantar fasciitis, plantar fasciosis is a thickening and scarring of the plantar fascia. Other reasons that heel pain does not improve include nerve entrapments, stress fractures and abnormal foot mechanics.
In our Seattle podiatry and sports medicine clinic we specialize in treating plantar fasciitis and other causes of heel pain. In particular we are very successful at treating heel pain that is chronic and has not responded to other treatments. Don’t live with chronic heel pain, it is treatable.
