A road crew accidentally ripped through multiple fiber optic lines during construction, causing a major outage.

Both a 288 count fiber cable and a 144 count fiber cable were damaged after conduit was pulled underground. What looked like one break turned into multiple failure points that had to be located, dug up, and repaired.

This is what emergency fiber restoration looks like behind the scenes.

From locating the damage to splicing the fibers and verifying with OTDR testing, restoring service takes hours of work most people never see.
