$1800 Video Card Review: EVGA RTX 3090 FTW3 Ultra vs. Founders Edition - Thermals, Noise, OC
The EVGA RTX 3090 FTW3 Ultra Gaming video card is among the most expensive we've ever benchmarked, and as such, its usefulness is limited to an extremely small userbase.

Our mouse mats will arrive back at our warehouse soon! They are now up for back-order. Anyone back-ordering a mat is guaranteed to receive one in our next run (which is in transit to us now)! We sold through these mats in under 48 hours when we first launched them, and similarly fast in the first restock. Here's the third round: https://store.gamersnexus.net/products/gn-wireframe-mouse-mat
Watch our original NVIDIA RTX 3090 Founders Edition review: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xgs-VbqsuKo (this will help you make more of a decision on whether the 3090 is worth it, in general)
The RTX 3090, in general, is not something we recommend for most people. There are definitely use cases in 3D art -- where you don't need Titan drivers -- and those use cases benefit greatly from the expanded framebuffer; that said, the usefulness of a board partner card is potentially lost to those users as cost balloons for features which prove useless to 3D artists and animators. That then potentially sidelines the card into a different audience, and it's one for extreme overclockers and overclocking battles. On its own, this audience can leverage these higher-end RTX 3090s, but it is a niche audience that doesn't represent the average user. That doesn't mean the card doesn't do well for that audience (this one does), just that the value in all the OC features may not prove worthwhile to, say, a Blender user who's been bumping against framebuffer limits. The EVGA RTX 3090 FTW3 Ultra is more expensive than the Founders Edition card, but just application benchmarks aren't good enough to determine the differences. We're looking at quality of life features, like noise-normalized thermals, ICX sensor value, acoustics, auto profile behavior, RPM response, and more.
