Easy Swedish 1 - Typical Swedish

Learn Swedish with Easy Swedish: Olof is out in Malmö to ask people what's typical Swedish :)

GLOSSARY:

Fika:
Could be a verb: att fika (to fika) or a noun: en fika (a fika). To fika is basically ''to have a coffee'' but often accompanied with pastries. It's often when you take a break from something. Example: you've been out Christmas shopping all day with a friend and then say: ''Vi tar en fika!'' (Let's take a fika).

Lagom:
Could be a adverb: lagom mycket godis (a suitable amount of candy) or an adjective: temperaturen är lagom (the temperature is moderate). There is no direct translation, but it sort of means: a suitable amout of/moderate/adequate. Many swedes explain it as ''not too much, not too little'', and many think that Swedes are very ''lagom'', not too extreme in any way; that we're moderate.

Jantelagen:
''Jantelagen'' is a bit related to ''lagom''. ''Jantelagen'' says that you're not allowed to succeed too much, you have to stay ''lagom'' (moderate, not too extreme)
