How does a writer create a feeling of unease in the audience? A feeling that something isn't quite right. Create a very sinister undertone to something that seems ordinary. In this video, we're not writing a suspenseful scene by building tension because instead we're going to surprise the character. Sort of like writing a jump scare, only no one saw it coming! What this will do for the rest of the story is it will create an eerie atmosphere and a lasting paranoia in the character who will constantly fear if they are once again in the midst of danger, deceived by the innocence of how it appears, only realising when it's too late.
