Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a form of arthritis that causes pain, swelling, and stiffness in your joints. RA is an autoimmune disease. Although it is most common in the wrist and fingers, this disease can cause your immune system to attack any joint tissue.

EXERCISES OF RHEUMATOID ARTHRITIS

1) WRIST CURL-in this exercise slowly lower the hand and pull it back up.

2) PALMAR STRETCH-use your unaffected hand to gently pull your fingers down towards the floor bending the wrist until you feel a stretch hold position for 5 seconds then relax.

3) FINGER LIFT WITH PEN-Pinch the pencil in between your middle finger and ringfinger.clamp down with your extended ring finger and your middle finger.

4).FINGER EXTENSION WITH RUBBER BAND-Place a standard rubber band around the outside of your fingers, just below the tips.slowly pull the rubber from you finger Hold the extended position for 2 to 3 seconds, then slowly and with control bring your finger back

If any exercises cause you pain or discomfort you should stop doing the exercises and consult your centre these exercises must always be done under the supervision of a physiotherapist for a safety and effectiveness.
