Indian Railways - The Metre Gauge DMU to Narendra Modi's hometown Vadnagar!

The Mahesana - Taranga Hill Metre Gauge Diesel Multiple Unit (DMU) crosses a Level crossing at Visnagar. One of the stations on this section, Vadnagar, is the home town of the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Legend has it that a 6 year old Modi used to help his father sell tea at this very railway station. This section was shut for gauge conversion earlier this year (2017). During its last days, this section was served by just the 1 pair of DMU in the morning. Its said that the section when converted to Broad Gauge will, in all likelihood, by-pass Taranga Hill and a new alignment will be planned to connect Mahesana with Ambaji.
