AH-64 Apache crew got a little too confident over Fort Campbell…
This happened during a training flight over Fort Campbell, Kentucky.An AH-64 Apache was heavily damaged after the pilot fly too low. Luckily the crew walked away.
The cockpit tape reveals exactly what happened and the exchange between the Pilot and the CPG over the intercom. A gap in the trees and over confidence.
76 knots and 16 feet from the ground the rotor blades contact the tree branches resulting in the Apache being emergency landed in a field.
