UN-run school among shelters hit in Gaza
A UN-run school was damaged in an Israeli airstrike in Jabalia refugee camp in northern Gaza. At least 15 people were killed among those taking shelter in the school, according to the head of al-Shifa hospital.

The UN agency for Palestinian refugees (UNRWA) has warned it cannot provide safety to the hundreds of thousands of Palestinians as more than 50 UN facilities have been ‘impacted’ by the conflict – including ‘five direct hits’ – and 38 people had died in UN shelters, Thomas White, the director of UNRWA affairs, said on Friday.
A building opposite al-Quds hospital in central Gaza was also hit in a blast, injuring scores of people, according to the Palestinian Red Crescent. In the south of Gaza, buildings in Khan Younis were also hit by strikes.
Israel’s prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, has largely ignored warnings that Israel risks losing any hope of an eventual peace deal with the Palestinians unless it eases the humanitarian crisis there.
