Storm Alex Brings Destruction and Floods France and Italy

Storm Alex is raging in Italy and France.
The streams of water have washed away the roads, in connection with which emergency workers deliver water and food to people cut off from civilization by helicopters. The heads of the Italian regions affected the most are asking for help - they argue that against the backdrop of the pandemic, settlements will not be able to recover from floods on their own.
Dozens of people in both countries are reported missing. Among those unable to contact are two firefighters whose vehicle was hit by a flood of water when a road collapsed south of the village of Saint-Martin-Vesuby in France.
Thunderstorm showers have continued in northern Italy and the Alpes-Maritimes department in southern France since October 2. In just half a day, almost an average annual rainfall of 500 mm fell on the Cote d'Azur. The head of the French government assures that there have never been such showers in the country - at least during the period of meteorological observations.
