Muxes rebuilding Juchitán

Juchitán de Zaragoza is a small town in Oaxaca, Mexico. With a population of approximately 70,000, the majority of residents are Zapotecs.

On September 7, 2017, Juchitán was hit by an earthquake of magnitude 8.2. which destroyed the town and took with it more than 100 lives.

With few resources, the Muxes from Las Auténticas Intrépidas Buscadoras del Peligro (The Authentic Intrepid Seekers of Danger), have united to restore their traditions and rebuild the city.

Juchitán de Zaragoza es un pequeño pueblo en Oaxaca, México. Con una población de aproximadamente 70,000. La mayoría de los residentes, son Zapotecs.

El 7 de septiembre de 2017, Juchitán fue golpeado por un terremoto de magnitud 8.2. lo cual destruyó el pueblo y quitó cerca de 100 vidas.
