In the surrounding areas between the Cenozoic and the Mesozoic there was an orogenesis due to carbonate sedimentation (the surrounding rocks contain various carbonates, including mainly calcium carbonate in the form of compact limestone).

𝗠𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗲𝘃𝗮𝗹 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗼𝗱
The feud in the 11th century belonged to the Normans, who built the castle, and to the diocese of Sulmona. The fiefdom of Anversa, in the Catalog of the Barons, in the 12th century, was Castrovalva.
The medieval name "Anversa" dates back to the position of the village towards the valley and the river of the Sagittarius (*Ad amnen versus*).
During the Swabian Empire, Frederick II found himself fighting against Count Tommaso, who had relied on his uncle Raynaldo. After their defeat, the fiefdom of Anversawas ceded to the young Rinaldo, who founded the county of the village.

𝗠𝗼𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗻 𝗲𝗿𝗮
In the 15th century the village was owned by Jacopo Caldora, and later by the Aragonese, who built a ducal palace on the old abandoned castle.
Subsequently it was the domain of the Di Sangro family, who held the domain until the 19th century. In 1706 the Majella earthquake damaged the village, damaged again in 1915 by the Avezzano earthquake.
