‘Government can’t ignore the calls’: Jacinta Price to pursue Indigenous spending audit
Shadow Minister for Indigenous Australians Jacinta Nampijinpa Price says she will be pursuing an inquiry into where Indigenous funding is being spent.
“This government cannot ignore the calls now,” Ms Price told Sky News host Peta Credlin.
“When Australia voted No over the weekend they actually also voted for these calls, for inquiries into where the money is being spent.
“It’s not just governments that have been responsible for the failures in terms of closing the gaps but for those who have been funded to create outcomes to improve the lives of our most marginalised, they are also responsible.
“There are many organisations that come out as strong Yes supporters because they want an entity in the Constitution that they can rely upon to do their bidding."
