11-Day Embracing Israel’s 75th Anniversary and March of the Nations Tour
with Tour Hosts Mitch and Rozalie Jerome & Worship Leader Keren DeBose. On Thursday, May 11, we arrived in Tel Aviv Israel at Herod’s Hotel & strolled the Promenade, worshiped on the beach and had Golda's Ice Cream. On Friday, May 12, we explored Mt. Carmel, Jaffa, Caesarea, Megiddo. We went to the Galilee & enjoyed our first Shabbat dinner in Tiberias. On Saturday, May 13, we visited the Golan Heights at Mt. Bental across Syria and stopped for coffee and prayer at this mountain top cafe. a private boat ride at the sea of Galilee, praying at the Mount of Beatitudes, and experiencing St. Peter’s fish for lunch. We saw a 2,000 year old fishing boat at Beit Yigal Alon Museum. On Sunday, May 14, we visited Capernaum and the Beit Shean site. We had lunch in
ancient Jericho and saw Tel Jericho from the Temptation restaurant. We
headed to Qasr Al Yahud for ritual immersion (mikvah/baptism) and spent the evening at the March of Nations Conference. On Monday, May 15, we spent the day at the March of Nations Conference along with representatives from 30 different nations as we prepared our
hearts for the March of Nations in Jerusalem. On Tuesday, May 16, the March of Remembrance leaders attended the Knesset while the
rest of the group visited the YVEL and Megemeria and observed Ethiopian
staff craft their jewelry. We went to the Latrun Museum and Genesis land. We then visited the Israel Museum, and Shrine of the Book. We joined the Jerusalem March of the Nations attended by over 2,000 people from over 30 Nations with a final event concert in Safra Square at Jerusalem Municipality. On Wednesday, May 17, we enjoyed a lovely bus ride to Zichron Yaakov for holy encounters between Nazi descendants and Holocaust survivor descendants. We went on a wonderful walking tour of the city and we ended with the best falafel and ice cream in town. We marched through the town along with the locals culminating with music, dance, and Holocaust testimonies. This intimate Holocaust March enabled many to experience healing and reconciliation. The next day, Thursday, May 18, we visited Isaiah 53 revealed by visiting Yad Vashem and the Garden Tomb. Today, Jerusalem day was celebrated by over 2,000 people on the streets. We barely made it to the symphony about the Jerusalem of the North (Lithuania) and Israel in time! We also attended a private lecture with Eldad Keynan, expert on the origins of the
earliest first followers of Yeshua. On Friday, May 19, we visited the City of David and walked through the Hezekiah tunnel to the pool of Siloam. We visited the Jewish Quarter and placed our prayer notes into the Western Wall. After lunch we walked through the Arab marketplace to the Christian
quarter to visit and to pray at the Church of the Holy Sepulcher. We then
walked through the Dung Gate to enjoy the Shabbat of a lifetime
experience with a young Orthodox Jewish family who live a couple of
hundred meters away from the Holiest location in the world, Temple
Mount. On Saturday, May 20, we experienced a cool morning on the Mt. of Olives overlooking Jerusalem. We then descended from such great heights to the lowest place on Earth, the Dead Sea. We explored Ein
Gedi where David hid from King Saul and we cooled off in King David’s
waterfall. Next, we visited Qumran where they found the greatest
manuscript discovery of modern time, the Dead Sea Scrolls (which proved
God’s power in preserving His word). We enjoyed lunch and Dead Sea skin
product shopping. Some took a late night walk through the streets of
Jerusalem after dinner to celebrate Havdalah at King David's tomb.
On Sunday, May 21, we departed from our hotel at Jaffa Gate and participated in the unique archeological sifting experience at Emek Tzurim where we looked for coins, pottery, bones, glass, and nails from the 2nd Temple period. Afterwards, we had a lovely lunch at Notre Dame of Jerusalem Guest House and restaurant. We proceeded on to Temple Mount where Abraham was asked to sacrifice Isaac, 9the location of the 1st and 2nd Temple and the future location for the reign of King Messiah. We prayed that Mt. Zion would one day soon become a place of prayer for All and not just Muslims. (Presently Temple Mount is run by Islamic authorities and non-muslim jewelry, patrons and prayers are forbidden.) We then arrived at King of Kings Church service to fellowship with Jerusalem -English speaking locals. Later, we went to a farewell dinner in the Old City at an Armenian restaurant in The Old City. We topped it off with a sound and light show spectacular at the Tower of David. This was all followed by cheesecake and coffee at Mamilla Mall Cafe where we shared our most impactful experiences in the land with one another. Departure at the airport ensued some creative repacking due to our plethora of gifts for our loved ones back home before takeoff.
