Congress leader Supriya Shrinate, in a sharp attack on the Modi government, accused the Enforcement Directorate (ED) of functioning as a "frontal agency of the BJP" in connection with the long-standing National Herald case.

Speaking to ANI, Shrinate said:

“The ED had to wait 365 days to file a charge sheet because they had no evidence. This case has been going on for over 10–15 years, and still nothing has been proven.”

She further claimed that 95% of ED’s cases are against opposition leaders, indicating political misuse of investigative agencies to target dissent.

Shrinate asserted confidence that the Congress will emerge clean, saying:

“ED will not be able to prove any allegation in this case.”
