700 year old castle ruins exploring.

This abandoned castle named Trutzeltz Castle was build somewhere in the year of 1336, this so called counter-castle was there to prevent a direct attack on the castle of Eltz which stand 230 meter further away in the same area. The Trutzeltz castle was in service until it was left abandoned in the year of 1453. The castle on the top of te hill is about 40 meter higher than the Eltz castle. The small castle of Trutzeltz is only 30 x 25 meter big and the only thing that is left is the 10 meters high tower and some pieces of the outer walls.
