Scientists Just Moved Water With a Magnet—And It Could Change Future Technology

Scientists have developed a groundbreaking surface that can move pure water droplets using only a simple permanent magnet. The new technology, created by Kim and colleagues, could improve applications ranging from medical testing and chemical analysis to advanced lab-on-a-chip devices.

Traditional droplet-control methods often rely on electrical systems, special surface patterns, or liquids mixed with magnetic particles.
