Great Western Steam Weekend - 6029 to Rylstone

Beyer-Garratt 6029 assisted by heritage diesel 4490 and GL112 hauls the official train celebrating the re-opening of the Gwabegar line between Kandos & Rylstone on Saturday September 29th 2018. This was the first time a Garratt locomotive had traversed the line.

After arriving from Lithgow 6029 and 4490 ran two shuttle trips from Kandos to Rylstone before the train returned to Lithgow that afternoon. The locos were re-marshalled at Clandulla to put 6029 in the lead for the return run and to pick up GL112 which had been dropped off in the siding that morning.
