Motor Ace, Damian Costin talks Five Star Laundry at Noise11.com

In 2001 Melbourne band Motor Ace released their debut album ‘Five Star Laundry’. It came at a vibrant time in Australian rock, just after Powderfinger and The Living End, just before Jet and The Vines.

‘Five Star Laundry’ was the first of three hit albums for Motor Ace. That first album saw the band rise to no 4 on the Australian album chart. It also delivered three song ‘American Shoes’, ‘Death Defy’ and Hey Driver’, songs that would become part of the band’s setlist forever moving forward.

Motor Ace kind of split in 2005. There was never an official announcement. They reunited in 2018 for some anniversary shows to mark 20 years of forming. More shows are planned for 2022, with more 20th anniversaries on the way.
