The snails at Phatinisiri Thangkeaw's farm were once the scourge of rice farmers, loathed for eating the buds of new crops. Once thrown away on the road or in the river, the snails are now sold to Phatinisiri's farm as its precious slime is far more valuable than gold for some cosmetic firms.
