Vice-Admiral Sir George Tryon KCB (4 January 1832- 22 June 1893) was the commander of HMS Victoria and the Mediterranean Fleet. It was Admiral Tryon who gave the fatal order that resulted in the sinking of HMS Victoria and his ghost was said to appear in his London home at the exact moment of his death as he went down with his ship. Admiral Tryon had joined the Royal Navy in 1848 and was a veteran of the Crimea and the Abyssinian Campaign. He had served aboard many Royal Navy ships including HMS Warrior, HMS Surprise, HMS Raleigh and HMS Monarch and was known as a strict disciplinarian and for having a reputation for being a daring but skilful ship handler. He developed the TA system with which complex ship manoeuvres could be communicated with minimal signalling and relying on the individual Captains using their initiative. After the fatal sinking of HMS Victoria on 22 June 1893 the TA system sidelined.

दरअसल यह बात 1893 22 June England की हैं। England की राजधानी London के eton Square में एक बड़ी आलिशान पार्टी चल रही थी। इस पार्टी में London के कई अमीर और शक्तिशाली लोग शामिल थे। यह पार्टी Vice-Admiral Sir George Tryon की पत्नी Mrs. Tryon ने ऑर्गेनिसे की थी। पार्टी का पूरा हॉल लोगो की भीड़ से खचा खच भरा हुआ था और तभी अचानक से drawing रूम की दिवार से एक व्यक्ति आर पार आता दिखाई दिया। पार्टी के सभी लोग हैरत में पड़ गए की कैसे कोई व्यक्ति दिवार से आर पार हो गया ? धीरे धीरे यह व्यक्ति mrs Tryon के पास बढ़ने लगा और तब mrs Tryon को समझ आया की यह व्यक्ति उनके पति Vice-Admiral Sir George Tryon का भूत हैं।

Mrs. Tryon अपने पति के भूत के पास पहुंची और उनको छू ने की कोशिश करने लगी तो उनका हाथ अपने पति के भूत में से आर पार हो गया। यह देखते ही mrs Tryon बेहोश हो गयी और पार्टी हॉल में गिर पड़ी। यह देख कर पार्टी में भगदड़ मच गयी और पुरे हॉल में चीखे गूंजने लगी। तब वहाँ खड़ी एक महिला ने Vice-Admiral Sir George Tryon के भूत से पूछा क्या आप ज़िंदा हैं ? यह बात सुनते ही ही उससे एक धक्का सा लगा और वह भूत दुखी हो गया और देखते ही देखते वह पार्टी हॉल से अचानक गायब हो गया।
