Prasad Kumar of Saravu has been serving as president of Milk Producers Cooperative Society , Perla Kasargod District Kerala for the last 10 Years. Himself is a progressive Dairy Farmer. The society started in the year 2002 Daily collection at that time was 40 litres of milk . Now the collection is 1250 litres of Milk .Society has been giving all types of benefits to dairy farmers.
Prasad is following integrated method in farming. He has Bio gas unit Composting Pit Slurry irrigation Grass Chopper Milking Machine for saving labor cost. He grows Green Fodder separately for feeding the cows. Prasad opinions that Dairy is Profitable if managed properly.We sould make use of Cow dung Urine and other agricultural waste for composting .We are using these for our crops like arecanut coconut pepper.
