Thunderbolts* aka The New Avengers: Movie Review Marvel's BEST Film in Years!
Just saw Thunderbolts—and it’s EXACTLY what Marvel needed! Florence Pugh CRUSHED it, but Wyatt Russell’s U.S. Agent stole the show as "the dick you love to watch." Here’s why this smaller-scale, PTSD-driven story works so well:
🔥 Wyatt Russell’s scene-stealing sarcasm (and hidden heart)
💥 FINALLY: Super soldiers doing SUPER SOLDIER stuff (Red Guardian/Winter Soldier team-up!)
🎭 Century’s Jekyll & Hyde twist = perfect Hulk replacement?
🌎 Why street-level stories beat intergalactic CGI sludge
🍿 Post-credit scene teases BIG things (despite David Harbour’s fluctuating weight?)
This felt like Suicide Squad done RIGHT—grounded, character-driven, and packed with dark humor. 9/10!

We are back, and I've seen The Thunderbolts. And I really enjoyed this movie. Florence Pugh did a fantastic job. Lewis Pullman playing Century was great. I really enjoyed David Harbour, as, the Red Guardian and, of course, US agent, Wyatt Russell.
He was fantastic. He was my favorite character of the whole movie. I loved his sarcasm, his just he's like the dick you love to watch just be a dick. But in the end, he's got heart. It was nice to see Sebastian Stanback as the winter soldier.
None of this I'm running for office that was, you know and I'm a politician. He needed to be an Avenger. This was the way to go. The film deals with a lot of post traumatic stress disorder type situations between all of the different characters, and I just loved how all of that played out. This movie was a smaller film, which I feel like Marvel because they they have a tendency to go intergalactic now with everything on different planets and and and these entities that are, you know, supernatural and and godlike.
And it it's nice to have a small story like this, which I also hope the next Spider Man film is small, more like street villain type stuff. This is where the budgets need to be in line with the smaller movies. The chemistry between everyone here, this was what the Suicide Squad should have been, but, you know, it's James Gunn, so he does the stupid stuff that he does. I really enjoyed Thunderbolts. This was just a fun movie.
I like the asterisk. The the post credit scene was great. You could tell that they shot a little bit out of sequence. Maybe, like, the post credit scene might have been an afterthought because all of a sudden David Harbour was, like, thin where he was kinda chunky in the rest of the movie. So now that he's an Avenger, he's getting into shape.
And I think this is what we needed. We needed smaller stories. Century, I thought, the Jekyll and Hyde type situation that he has almost like the Hulk where, you know, you don't know where this guy's coming from. It's good. It's gonna work.
And they're gonna need somebody with these kind of superpowers to fill the void of, like, what's missing from all vision not being there and all the other superheroes that aren't there that, you know and and it's nice to see Red Guardian, Winter Soldier, and US Agent as super soldiers doing super soldier stuff. People forget that they have the serum in them, and then that's what they that's what they do. We needed this. And it'll be fun to see once Sam Wilson gets into the mix in the next movie how all of this stuff, comes together. This is what Marvel needed.
They needed a movie like this, Fantastic Four is next. So then we go from a smaller, more personal film like this to the intergalactic shit again. And, you know, but this was a nice, like, take a breath, enjoy the street level type action, and how all these people deal with this post traumatic stress disorder from all the stuff that they've been through. It was really good. It's a good solid film.
What did you guys think? Thunderbolts. You like it? You love it? You hate it?
