How To Transplant Cucumbers And Squash And Give Them An Early Boost

In this video I show how I transplant my cucumbers, squash, zucchini, pumpkins and watermelons. Really any seedling could benefit from the couple of things I do to give seedlings a head start in their permanent transplant location.

First I mix some organic granular fertilizer into the hole where I will be transplanting into, then I bury the cucumber or squash up to the top of the root ball, and then I water the seedlings in with alaska fish fertilizer.

The fish fertilizer will hold the plants over until some of the organic granular begins to break down (it usually takes 2-4 weeks for organic granular to start feeding the soil).

It's just a couple of extra steps but it has always helped my transplants significantly. Hope that helps!
