"Pantanal: Prairie of the Great Waters," a 40,000 square-mile wetland in southwest Brazil. Observed: tapirs, which use prehensile snouts to feed on roots and leaves; caimans, crocodiles that prey on fish; fist-size apple snails; and cormorants.
