Kelty Salida 2: Field Test (updated) 2-18-13

My initial impression of the Salida 2 through three days of thunderstorms and heavy rain. I thought this might be helpful for people like myself who were looking for a light-weight 2 man tent. I researched several and there are various competitive models. I also noticed their prices change like the wind on a daily basis. Find the one you like and watch the price on different sites. I saw the Salida for $129 after I bought it for $139. I also saw it for $169. Go figure...
One other thought. If you are willing to go a few more pounds and a few more dollars the Kelty Gunnison Pro 2 and the Half Dome 2 from REI are stronger looking tents. They run $200 or so and weigh roughly 6 lbs.
Specs for the Kelty Salida 2:

total weight, 4lbs. 8 oz.
packed size, 7" x 22"
floor dimensions 88" x 55" (44" at the short end)
area, 30.5 sq. ft.
peak height, 43"
poles, 2 aluminum DAC 9 ml thick
Addendum: I've had this tent out quite a few times now (it's feb 18, 2013 right now) and it's held up fine.
Went up to Allegheny National Forest a few days after xmas and got hit with over a foot of snow...no problem! It would be wise to tap the tent from the inside so the snow falls off. Also, since the only venting is along the bottom of the fly, you must keep the snow from blocking the air.

Not a single leak thus far. I've thought about buying a more expensive tent (ie., 4 season) but it just doesn't make sense. The light ones are single walled and they leak (Black Diamond, Mountain Hardware...) and I sure as hell don't want to get a heavier one.

I'm gonna stick with this Kelty.
