Trump waves at migrants across Rio Grande during visit to Texas border

Former US President Donald Trump waved to people standing on the Mexico side of the Rio Grande as he visited the US-Mexico border in Eagle Pass, Texas with Governor Greg Abbott.

"They like Trump. Can you believe it?" Trump said to a pool camera crew after a voice could be heard shouting his name from across the river.

US President Joe Biden and Trump made duelling visits to the US-Mexico border as an influx of immigrants has become a dominant issue for voters.
