Baidu's Apollo Self-Driving Fleet in China's "AI City"

Baidu's fleet of Apollo autonomous vehicles was showcased in the Chinese city of Xiongan in this video debuted at the Baidu World @ Las Vegas CES 2018 Launch Event.

The 'AI City" is a part of a larger strategic collaboration between Baidu & the local government to develop the new economic zone into a smart city through deepening cooperation in intelligent transport, and the application of conversational AI and cloud computing infrastructure. Xiongan New Area will be developed into an “AI City”, which will become a new model for smart cities in the future.

First announced in April 2017, Apollo is Baidu’s open autonomous driving platform which provides a comprehensive, secure and reliable all-in-one solution supporting all major features and functions of an autonomous vehicle. Baidu refers to Apollo as the Android of the autonomous driving industry, but more open and more powerful, allowing partners to go from zero to one and quickly assemble their own autonomous vehicles and start their product R&D.
