Ruffling Feathers: The Hidden Activist History of the Feather Hats in Wild Ireland | Ulster Museum

'Wild Ireland: Past, Present, Future' is a collaborative exhibition from renowned wildlife painter, Julian Friers, and Ulster Museum Natural Sciences curator, Dr Mike Simms, featuring over 50 remarkable paintings of our flora and fauna, past and present.

You may be surprised to see a trio of feather hats from our collection on display in Wild Ireland - but as Curator of Fashion and Textiles, Charlotte McReynolds, explains, these hats hold a hidden history of animal activism.
