15 MINUTES OF MOMO BEING THE #1 DANCING MACHINE

In my personal opinion (which you are allowed to respectfully disagree with!), Twice’s Hirai Momo is the best female dancer of the 3rd generation. I hope these 15 minutes showcase her talents in terms of dance.
Having been dancing since she was three years old, it is apparent in the way her presence shines on stage every time she moves. Momo is extremely versatile, and is able to pick up multiple styles of dance (hip hop, contemporary, “cutesy,” etc.). No matter what genre she dances, her power and technical ability sets her apart from other dancers on stage. She participates in choreographing many of the songs which she dances to, and is adept in the field of freestyle. Momo is able to bring her own charm and quirks to the table every time she dances, making her one of my favorites. Other idols have acknowledged her dancing skills, and she was even voted #1 in the category of dancers in a large survey where popular K-pop idols voted for their top choices.
All in all, Momo receives a lot of hate that she does not deserve, and I’ve seen that she is often pitted against more internationally favored female idols through extremely biased videos on Youtube (seriously, you give the other person 5 minutes of professional dance videos and then give Momo a 30 second video of her playfully freestyling). This talented girl has been through so much, from moving away from her hometown in Japan at a young age, to dealing with the trauma of criticisms and elimination on Sixteen. Momo deserves all the love in the world. My intention is to not bash other female dancers in the industry, as they are all extremely talented and amazing as well, but rather to give Hirai Momo the coverage and spotlight she deserves.
