West Macdonnell Ranges. Amazing rock formations and waterholes in the centre of Australia.

Join us as we continue our epic Northern Territory adventure into the stunning West Macdonnell Ranges/tjoritja National Park.
Just 18km west of Alice Springs, it stretches for more than 160km and has some of most spectacular scenery in the Red Centre, featuring a series of spectacular chasms and gorges, with many having permanent waterholes that act as a refuge for an assortment of rare plants and animals.
The ancient landscape, sculpted over time by climatic changes, holds significant value to the Western Arrernte people.
Most of the park is two-wheel drive accessible, however there are a few corrugated dirt roads. There are multiple paid National Park campgrounds, but you can bush camp for free on the banks of the Finke and Hugh rivers.
