The Abbey of the Mont-Saint-Michel | SLICE

In Normandy (France), perched on a rock and surrounded by quicksand stand the Mont-Saint-Michel Abbey. This 80-meters-long medieval monastery counts among France’s most stunning sights. Completed in 1523, the gravity-defying monument was for centuries one of Europe’s major pilgrimage destinations. A true temple of light and isolation that is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
