There is plenty to see in Queensland, 'the 'nothing to see', is job growth': Murray

Sky News host Paul Murray says Queensland officials are pretending many jobs were being created in their state, when really, of the 36,000 new full-time jobs created around the country, only 179 of those were in Queensland.

Australia’s unemployment rate has fallen significantly to 6.8 per cent for the month of August, with more than 36,000 full time jobs added in that time.

Mr Murray said the unemployment rate in Queensland was at 7.5 and only 179 full time jobs had been created in the last month.

“179 jobs, that’s all the Queensland government has been able to create while simultaneously destroying their economy by using the borders as a political tool to save their backsides at an election,” Mr Murray said.

“These people are trying to tell you everything is fine.

Mr Murray said the Queensland government was like Leslie Nielson in The Naked Gun movie, standing in front of an exploding building saying, “there’s nothing to see here”.

“There’s plenty to see here, the nothing to see here is full time job growth,” He said.

“179 people, that’s it.”
