SERVICING hydraulic line leak (ford 4500 tractor)

Servicing hydraulic lines is a very common job on these backhoe tractors. Whenever you loosen up a line remember these are under high-pressure take it slow and let the pressure release slow. When you move the fitting back-and-forth you should feel no pressure when you release the hydraulic hose. In this case the tapered fitting was too long and was hitting the inside of the hydraulic cylinder. This thread need to be ground back so the threads could tightly interfere and create a strong seal.
