The Evolution of Chuck E Cheese! The Chuck E Cheese restaurants (formerly Pizza Time Theatre) offer entertainment for the whole family through arcade games, pizza, animatronics and live characters. Next to the animatronics, meeting Chuck E Cheese himself has become a staple of the restaurant. Since the first Chuck E Cheese opened in 1977 the Chuck E. character has seen quite the change in his appearance; through the days of Atari, Pizza Time Theatre going bankrupt and being bought by Showbiz Pizza Place, and the complete Chuck E Cheese character redesign of 2012; there's a lot of character history in the restaurants.
