Our Stay At A Kwai River Floating Jungle Lodge In Thailand. No Electricity, No Internet.

Steeped in history and natural beauty, the River Kwai is one of the most famous and tragic rivers in Thailand.

My family had the chance to spend two nights at Kwai River Jungle Rafts, a floating river lodge in Kanchanaburi. We had no electricity, no internet, and yet it was one of the most memorable and beautiful accommodations of our entire two weeks in Thailand.

During our stay we enjoyed river floating, a tour of a Mons village and a Mons dance show. We also explored one of Thailand's largest and most famous caves and climbed through waterfalls in Sai Yok National Park.

But a visit to Kanchanaburi wouldn't be complete without learning about the region's tragic WWII history with a visit to Hellfire Pass and the Briver on the River Kwai.

Staying at this unique "Floatel" involved hopping on a longtail boat for a trip up the Kwai River and two nights of peaceful enjoyment with just the sounds of the water, the birds, and the calls of nearby monkeys.
