Dominic Cummings is expected to spend up to four hours giving evidence to MPs on Wednesday when he appears before a super-committee investigating the coronavirus pandemic response.

His session before the health and science joint committee will bring much of Westminster to a standstill as ministers and their aides await any “Dom bombs” that might come their way in what is billed as a no-holds-barred appearance.

Mr Cummings has suggested, through a torrent of tweets in recent days, that he will produce documents that have never been seen before, and that will embarrass his former boss Boris Johnson.

The session is expected to be divided into four parts of up to an hour each, covering:

- Pandemic preparedness and the first lockdown
- The test and trace programme
- Vaccines
- The second lockdown

Joint chairmen Jeremy Hunt and Greg Clark expected to helm two sessions each.
