Should he get his protective(restraining) order dropped?

Defendant is being charged with assault on a family member. He's asking to get his protective order dropped, and the complainant is actually asking to have them dropped too. He almost gets it dropped but then they find out that he actually caught another assault on the same complainant after this occurred.
Do you think his protective order should be dropped? I don't! Its crazy what his wife is putting up with
