Which Patient of AVN hip is Right Candidate for Core Decompression Surgery ?? #avascularnecrosiship

In this video we have tried to give insight about factor affecting Core decompression surgery outcome. We have given more emphasis on karbouls angle that is combined necrotic angle and its impact on outcome of corr decompression surgery in Avascular necrosis of hip.

In the context of hip avascular necrosis the "combined necrotic angle" is also known as the "Kerboul angle".

Combined necrotic angle (Kerboul angle) = angle on AP view + angle on lateral view

Clinical relevance:
Less than 190°: Low risk of collapse.
Between 190° - 240°: Moderate risk.
More than 240°: High risk of femoral head collapse.

Using this angle we can assess and expect the outcome of core decompression surgery for Avascular necrosis of hip
