AEG Router MF1400KE Part 1 (of 5)

This test was put together by our colleague Anthony who has a small, experimental workshop in the basement.

This router was introduced to the European market in 2012 and is one of the very few '2 base ' routers available on the Eastern side of the Atlantic. By 2 bases, I mean it comes both a fixed and plunge base, the motor unit being removable in order to make the base changes possible. An interesting feature is that each of the 2 supplied collets has its own locking nut. The collets just click into place and appear to be not removable without the help of a pipe wrench or suchlike. Still, I don't see a need to remove them in any case. With their own nut, I can't see a chance of losing one in the future in amongst the shavings of my workshop floor.
