Rural Area in Singapore | Pulau Ubin

Yes! Singapore has rural areas, and Pulau Ubin is one of the last rural areas of Singapore with only 38 villagers as of 2012 (source: wikipedia.org)

It's one of the favorite spots of families and group of friends who wants to go on adventure in the forest. This place offers activities such as camping, Mangrove kayaking, mountain biking, running and hiking.

Join us as we explore the rustic slow life of Pulau Ubin and test our cycling skills to Chek Jawa. Talk about the sneaky group of monkeys that snatches food and drinks that adds up to your adrenaline rush! :D

Budget:

🚣‍♀️ Boat
- Usual price is $3 per head, but we paid $4 as there's a limited number of passengers due to safe distancing measures. 10-15mins travel

🚵‍♀️ Bike Rental
- depends on what kind of bike you prefer, but we rented $10 for the whole day

What to bring:

🍎 Food and drinks
- you can bring your own, make sure to put it INSIDE your bag, else you will be chased by macaque monkeys 🙉 or you can buy at the stalls

🙈 Note that monkeys recognise plastic grocery bags as food sources, they are likely to try to snatch the bags (even while you're biking!). Cloth bags and backpacks are less attractive to them.

⛱ Cap, sunblock and umbrella - this area is either intensely hot or it rains

🦟 Insect repellant
